Also, what are the recomended settings for the mic for use w/ DVX.
I set the mic @ -10dB sensitivity as recomened by manual for voice recording. Then I set the reciever output to -18dB as it seemed way too "hot" on the factory setting. With these settings and the DVX audio level set at mid level it sounds good to me. Does this sound about right? Any other settings I need to change from the factory defaults?

I have several lavs in my arsenal but have come to just use my Countryman B6's. They sound soooo sweet and are easy as pie to hide. Get yourself some colored caps and you are good to go.
Go with the B3 and you can save about $100 bucks and it's still very easy to hide.
I second the suggestion on the Countryman B-6's. They are awesome mics and you can put them anywhere!
After yesterday's shoot, I have to say thumbs down to the G2's. I used a Senn G1 and a G2 yesterday (actors and most crew on a boat, me on shore about between 20-70' away) and I got singificantly more dropouts from the G2's than the G1's. And, the G1's are much more sturdy in construction and you can remove/replace the antennae, whereas you can't on the G2's.
(BTW, I was really surprised how bad the performance of the G2's was. I was getting ready to buy one to add on to my G1's, but now I'm rethinking it based on yesterday.)
Wabbit, how much bigger are the b-3's? It's hard to tell from the matchbook picture Countryman provides.
They were the 100's (not sure on the exact model number). I had great hopes for them. Oh well. Now I'm looking to augment with something else...ideally Lectro, but if not that, I'm looking at shure (still haven't gotten a lot of feedback on Shure though). BTW, have you noticed that a lot of retailers are now charging more for the caucasian flesh colored Countryman cabled mics? Usually like $20 more.
thats about 1/3 of what i did in drama and big doco , the most of israelly companies dont give ashit to put their credits there since no one ever whatch it beside who are living here , i have also about 500 hard news days ( abc , cbs ,nbc , zdf , ard sat 1 ,assahi nhk, roiters and others) in my life beside all the other eng **** . and i still dont know 10% of what i want to know about production sound
yes i have also twice best sound from israelly accademy in motion picture- but that only good to hold the papers on my desk and safty(SELF DIFFENCE) in NY SUBWAY ;D
Oleg, would you consider #3381 on the below page to be as good or better than the G2? Also I noticed many of the Lectrosonics have only one antenna, is this normal for lectrosonics? I am a real newbie to audio/video and am trying to get the most bang for the buck.
the 185 is vhf- non dyvercity system / its probably 10 years old ( the first ones came about 15 yers ago)- , i dont remember this one as very good system , not so grate range , really didnt work with that about 7-8 years as radio mike system, only as another ifb channel for short range , ill say go for 190/195 or stay ,with g-2
