Sony or Senhizer Wireless mic? Which one?`

Hey guys,

I'm in the market for a wireless lav ASAP. Just found out.. need to buy for shoot starting on Sunday! Ahck!

I'm looking at This sony system:

Or this senhizer G2:

Pros and cons? Anyone? Never used either of these before. I want good audio quality and interference-free operation.

I've heard good things about the G2. Anyone using sony or another brand I should check out. Need this by sat. though, so i have to buy local in toronto.

I like my sennheiser G2 and i can use my K6/ME64 to it

i dont like both of them - the sen is better sounding system , the sony has less reseption problems ( of courase if you are on the same fq with out any rf problems) both of them are **** if you comper it to the lectrosonics or any other quality product
so - it really doesnt metter , one nessery thing to do is to change the lavalier capdsul which come with the mike , that can help allitle bit with the quality

oleg, I know lectrosonics are great, but it's just out of my price range right now. Thanks for your comments!

lectrosonic is a good company not only buy their products but as support system to their customers - and thats from personal expirience
and yes the lectrosonics is the most popular product here in the high end wierless buisness

But lectrosonics seems to be ab old construction, 9 V battery and adjustment by switches and rotary control.
But the have 50mW transmitter. :)

old construction - look i dont know if you ever step over the g-2 - but you can sertanly stay it lyuing the plastic **** on the ground
9v battery - for systems which work on 5 v this is much better then pull the 2.4 to 5 v thrue the dc  up converter, loose energy on that prosses
my dear i see  190,195 lectros 9-10 old performing better then the senhiser **** and they would live much longer after the g-3 would arive .
about the sound quality is better just shut up
the lectros existing in 50, 70 and 100 mw output , so the difference between 30 mw senheise and 100 mw lectro is about 80 % in range ( sqwer rot of 3.3  is 1.8 ) that befor you notice that senheiser put +/ -2 db on the output . look its not 30 its arround:-)
now about front end regection , in multyply situation you would probably notice that your lovely senheiser shorting the range from x to y  and you dont know why - thats why  the rf polution from one mike to the other  kill your reseption ( iam not talking about 2 mikes - but about 2 dosen in the same place.
look  the g-2 is wonderfull to people who megars the quality buy cost of their camera - for me its another  evereg consumer product with grate public relations and dumping policy by senheiser . the senheiser good stuff cost segnifican more  and even then when i have to choose in the high end the lectrosnics 400 bit ashit from the sens and cost half ( becouse the euro)
old desighn - thats only company in the world that making woterproof housing ( mm-400) so you can sweem with the transmitter and b-6 countryman -
learn befor you drop something that you dont quit understand

i for got the lectrosonics um-250 , its 250mw transmitter for really long range transmittion( cost you 9v battery for 2,5 hours work) so the difference between the the "sentoy" and the lectro could be 3 times more , but actually much grater in real world where the toys die fast

Ended up going with the senhizer G2. Just got back from my first shoot with them. I'm quite impressed. No interference, easy to use etc. Need to replace the included mic though. Is the senhizer upgrade mic a good choice, or is there another brand?
