Hey RED (with your two-year delay on the Scarlet): You can go suck it. Sony beat you bad, with 1/3 your bloated pricing and with actual brainpower. Go back to making those overpriced Oakley sunglasses.

This is a giant leap forward for independent filmmaking. Sony have pulled way ahead of Panasonic's and Canon's plans to occupy the field. And now, those Canon 5DmkII and 7D rigs have just begun to look silly.

How about some small token of respect for the guys who not only made a good film alternative available but are trying to bring it to the masses? You do know who owns this site, don't you? Landmine Media. You DO know who is operating REDUser, don't you?
Geez, I understand if you don't care for Scarlet. That's fine, just an opinion. But don't go bashing RED and comparing their would-be superior alternative just out of sheer spite....

I willfully ignore cross-ownership issues within any such context of a place like this where the fundamental mission is to foster free and open discussion. RED has plenty of gushing love at its forums to not require any protection here.

But the whole RED cult thing takes this thread off-topic to be sure, especially since RED is near zero as a player in this space (until they actually get something to market besides their old One). I've softened my footnote considerably.
