Sony NEX hacked

Is fine detail the problem with NEX5/7 footage? I thought it was moire, alaising and rolling shutter artefacts that caused most of the problems?

On my NEX-5N, aliasing/moire are quite contained: you can make them appear, but it's by far less common than on the Canons. Check the moire torture test here: http://www.vimeo.com/similaar/shootout2012

Detail is not a huge issue, I very much like the sharpness-softness balance of this camera. Still, if I can keep that, but have less codec artifacts, I'll gladly take it :)

I'd be very happy to get back my custom cropmarks, zebras, waveform, etc: I really miss all those ML goodies. Plus an intervalometer would be great, since this camera can't take timelapses otherwise.

Edit: detailed thoughts about this camera here: http://www.similaar.com/foto/flaat-5n/review.html

Right on - us VG20 users sure would like to control sharpness and contrast as well. Hope this hack works.
