Hi,

I have been offered a Sony NEX-FS100 and would like to know if it accepts my current Canon L lenses with adaptor (where to buy online)?

Cheers

It does.... I think it's been talked about quite a lot here.
Try searching Ebay for "eos to e mount" and look at your options. There are some with build in aperture and some without. It's hard to give sound advice since they seem to vary in quality even within one brand. I have the Fotodiox one without aperture and for shoots where you have time to setup between shots it's more than fine. If you're doing run & gun I would consider getting the aperture one.

But to be honest, you should keep an eye on the E mount lenses coming out from Sony these days. They offer AF and some of them are even decently wide enough in aperture. That's the thing with Canon lenses.... you won't have auto focus and aperture control.

The only thing you need to consider like legrevedotcom said is aperture control. The problem with EF protocol lenses are that aperture can only be controlled digitally. We make a smart adapter that allows you to control the aperture of the L series lenses you've invested so much in. Currently we only make this adapter for Micro Four Thirds bodies, but there is a gentleman converting our existing units to be compatible with the Sony E Mount. Philip bloom did an extensive review on the adapter and the conversion to E-Mount.

There are plenty of reviews around on adapters that have fake built in aperture blades, but their riddled with problems. It's simply just not where the aperture blades should be.

Thanks pal :)

Bubble,

Nothing official as of now. The Smart Systems SRL is a pretty nifty solution. Granted with the exchange rate to the states it could bite a bit more than some would like. But as you see it requires some additional extension pieces to clear the body of the F3, not sure the situation with the FS100.

I'm using the fotodiox adapter. I just keep a 7D handy for iris changes. Here is a behind the scenes video I shot for an eyewear company with EOS lenses. I used the 24-70L, 70-200L, tokina 11-16, sigma 10mm fisheye, and a lensbaby 2.0

with my 16-35, 24-70 and 70-200 L-lenses I use it on open aperture.. don't see the need to smaller, than F2.8 at all ! .. and If you get var-ND filter - you will not need the apertura at all in 80% of situations! :cheesy:
