Sony NEX/Axx Firmware hacking

[karnayna]

Emulation is not possible. QEMU crashes with original kernel.

What about VirtualBox or VMware?

What about VirtualBox or VMware?

What good with them? ARM emulation? Dont get your question

[Andrew Reid]

I've set up a dedicated place for the hack at EOSHD if it helps. I suggest a fund begins for the body so Someone 1.00 can get started in ernest

Good luck guys!

Yesterday I set up a wiki on pbworks platform:

http://hackingalpha.pbworks.com

but andrew was faster than me in opening a new subform and I also think that his blog has a better visibility, so it's no problem for me to abandon the just created wiki.

[Andrew Reid]

Yesterday when that comment was posted I felt it too early to buy the first camera after only 2 days of donations.

But today I have compromised and found agreement with Someone1.00.

We will be buying the first camera body today. Big thanks to everyone who has donated so far.

[someone1.00]

Today i've ordered first camera with the donated money. I'm sure it'll roll smoothly with second one with some help from donors http://www.nex-hack.com/index.php/topic/1096-donate/

[Andrew Reid]

Here's the donation tracker http://www.nex-hack.com/donate/

Big thanks to Someone1.00 and everyone who is making is work possible by donating!

[someone1.00]

We're on the finish line. Just one more step.

[Tendai Chiura]

Is there any chance to hack a Sony a57 european to shoot 60p 24p with higher bitrate for us filmmaker

[someone1.00]

I don't know anything a57. It is not possible to tall anything without a camera or a firmware.

Right then. Ill start by saying I have actually been waiting for this for a long time, but all I can say now is that its do-able and I dont know what all the fuss was about (I can say that because I had no part in it!!). Got a bit excited seeing it myself tonight. My job here is done and I am going to post something on here soon as he wont! Did I say I was a tiny bit excited????????

edit: one of the tests was showing av 46mbps and topped out at 9 mins 23! little room, summer evening! Dark room with 1.8 50mm looked very nice.

where did this guy go? Someone1.00 could do with his help I imagine.
