Sony HVR-Z7U HDMI Question

Will be 8-bit, virtually all cameras are since displays are expecting an 8-bit signal and that's what the HDMI out is provided for. Thinking about recording to an Atomos or Black Magic recorder perhaps? Those will record as 10-bit, no harm in that, do it all the time.

Yeah, looking at getting the Atomos Ninja Star to use with my Z7. I use the KiProMini with my Varicam and love it! the Varicam does 10bit 4:2:2 which is nice!
