I picked up a V1U last year for television production and have been very pleased with it. It's not our primary camera but material shot from it blends very nicely with the 1/3" chip cameras we also have.
We've since added a PMW-EX3 to our gear as our new #1 camera but for the price you'd be hard pressed to find as good a performer as the V1U.
