Sony HVR-S270U eating tapes

I'm somewhat involved in a project that is utilizing these cameras. I'm getting reports that 3 of 3 cams are eating HD tapes. Has anyone experienced this? Or have any advice? I don't have any more details just yet. It's very strange and the problem must be resolved this weekend!

Turns out this is a known issue at Sony. A bad batch? Who knows. Buyer beware!
