Sony HVR-HD1000u...Should I?

The HVR-HD1000u would cost me about $1500 (maybe less on eBay), but it would run at 1080i. A good conform would drop put me to 30p. Has anyone done this? What do you guys think? Considering I'm doing straight to video (down converting to DV) and web distribution I don't think the viewer would notice a huge difference, but I'm also considering a 24p conform if I can do it without screwing things up.

Definitely considering it. My other choices are the 24p Canon's. This is half the price and has all the functions I need.
