Sony HVR 1ZU Versus DVX100B Versus HVX200

For a PC-based NLE, Edius is really, really worth looking at. It may not be as strong an editing program as the others (yet), but the P2 integration is SWEET. It delivers realtime editing performance even on my slow systems, in the native codec. I think Edius has a chance to become "the new Vegas" for HVX users.

Hey Barry, did you ever try Edius with any other HDV camera? Realtime with HDV should be sweet. I use Premiere Pro 2.0 with a amd dual and it's almost real-time. I wonder if Edius would be better.

On my system it's close to realtime with a 1080i clip. On a dual-core or dual-processor system I'm sure it'd be full realtime.
