Sony GV-D1000 and DVX Cleaning

I am currently using a Sony GV-D1000 Deck and a DVX100A. I've always used Panasonic MQ tapes in both.

I've read the post concerning the cleaning but I am not confident enough to open up my camera and clean it myself. What would be the best way to clean the heads of my camera and my deck?

Should I buy a Sony mini-dv cleaning cassette for the deck or use the panasonic one for both my camera and my deck? How often should I use the cassette in both?

I am going to guess that you would use the Sony head cleaner tape for the deck. But I do see your point because you use the Panasonic tape in both the deck and the camera. I am not sure on that one.

You might look for a pro that would show you how to do the cam yourself. But since I don't have a warantee to read I have no idea what would void it. Does the warantee stipulate Panny authorized service for cleaning if any disassembly is done?
As for he deck - I dunno.

Yah it's quite confusing, and until the day I meet a pro in Quebec city (CA) who is willing to take some time to show me how, i'll need to use cassettes :D
