FX6: Sony FX6ii (wish list)

Given the C80 just came out, I figure an update to the FX6 is probably not too far away. After having the FX6 since launch, I've settled into how it works... but there are a few things that would get me to trade it in for a mark 2.

The ones for me would be:
- IBIS: Sony don't seem to be releasing PZ/OSS lens any more. I pretty well leave the 10 year old PZ 28-135 (and it's not wide enough) on all the time (I'm 99% handheld). I'd love something like that new Canon PZ (RF 24-105mm f/2.8) in a Sony equivalent.
- eVND: Finer range at the low end. I use the eVND to control exposure but wish it both started at a low strength (say 1/2 instead of 1/4) and had better graduation as it moved through the lower range (I don't that it is that "seamless" at that part of the range).
- Autofocus: It's rock-solid in the low base (even with eVND on), is fine in high base without eVND on, but can continually hunt for focus when in high base & eVND enabled on busy backgrounds.
- Optional OEM EVF : Maybe even one that plugs into the MI Shoe. Just something that plugs into the camera that does not need rigging up with additional cables, batteries etc. My eyes are getting old.

TBH - I'd settle for just the addition of IBIS or a couple of modern PZ/OSS lens (even a 20-70 F4 would be fine thanks!).

Those are reasonable suggestions but Sony has greatly reduced their release schedule due to popularity. The A7siii is 5 years old but since the competition has barely caught up, there's no need to do anything if it's still selling. There is no pressure for them to improve the Fx6. I don't believe they'll add IBIS because cinema productions prefer to use gimbals instead of ibis because it gives more control on the type of movement they want. For this reason you'll never see the occasional gittery or warpiness of ibis in movies.

The only thing I'd really love in my FX6 is the ability to shoot 4K120p with audio. I'm certain this could be done via firmware (but just as certain it won't happen, sadly).

Although if Sony came out with a S35 version of the FX6 (like the "FX60" that people claimed was on the horizon after the FX30's release) I'd be tempted by it.

Otherwise it's hard for me to imagine any dramatic improvements that would be worth upgrading for. IBIS would be nice, but overall the FX6 is still just remarkably capable and versatile.

I remember at the time, there was an interview with a Sony JP dev that said cramming both eVND and IBIS into the FX6 was an issue given the lack of space with E-Mount. Fast forward a few years and they managed to cram it into both the Burano and the new camcorders... so here's hoping.

Sounds dubious considering ibis side to side up and down.

The Fx3 & fx30 has ibis, although I’ve found active e-stab is needed for hand held but incurs a significant crop.
