i have owned my sony fx1 for a couple years now and i am really tired of HDV, i have had so many problems importing HDV to Final Cut Pro and is such a time consuming process. also i am tired of buying tapes! i am in the market for a new camera and the HMC150 fits my price range along with the features that it supports. i will have much higher quality footage with that camera, and not need to worry about tapes. However, how do i import HD from that camera to FCP without loosing any quality? is it easy?

You can do this straight from the card or transfer the files directly to your HDD. But you just use the log and transfer window - mark your ins and outs on the clips you want to use in edit press a button and FCP L&T will do the rest. You will first need to adjust your L&T preferences to what form of prores you want to edit on.
