I know this is a long shot but it is almost August. If anyones here in AUS know anything about the upgrade, please feel free to share the love. I went into the SONY CENTER in Melbourne. The impression I got from the sale guy was "English mate! Do you speak it" I don't think anyone in sony know when I should send the camera in to get it repair.

Not sure about Melbourne but Sydney are all over it.
Someone else in the main thread in the last week posted the Australian bulletin from 24th June with the details.
Ring 1 (300) 367-669 option 5.
talked to rikki in admin. Then she put me onto a tech who has already done 6 of them !
since I'm sending mine from Canberra she said better make it another $25 for return shipping ! Nice
most interesting thing was she claimed it was a software only upgrade.
clearing it up with the tech. They need to software upgrade the FPGA. They have to take the camera apart to get to it which takes around 3 hours. I saw on the other thread someone said they were waiting on parts.... There are none.
They do however need a special hardware jig to do the software upgrade on the fpga.
so. It will only take them a few days depending on other work at the time!
im back in oz later this week, so should be slog2 by the end of next week!

BTW, SLOG2 is the freaking bomb.
Shot a lot of test footage today with it, graded it tonight and I'm in love. Have shoots the next three days and can't wait to see the footage. This is the first PP I've shot with (from the 7D --> 5DM2 --> FS100 --> FS700) where I'm pleased with the reds and blues together.

Please don't me jealous. Just spoke to RIKKI from SONY and she is about to send me an email with instruction where to send my FS700 to and how much it will cost. So excited.

Got mine back. All good. Now just need a 7q or even ability to rent sony solution. Sent lemac an enquiry, have not heard back yet. Since the tech at sony has done 6+ already, maybe there will be enough interest you will be able to rent the interface unit without buying it. Certainly the recorded will probably get a bit f5/f55 etc, but interface unit. Hard to say if enough interest for someone to rent it.
