Where can I find my FS7 serial number?

I need to complete the a Sony Prime Support warranty form.

Need to send the camera back due to a magent shift when using a daylight preset or 5600k when in custom mode.
Manual white balance is okay.

How long is the standard Prime Support warranty vaild for. I'm consider upgrading the support level. Anyone have any experience with Sony Prime Support?

Surinder.

I haven't really done enough shooting with the camera to notice if there is magenta shift... What modes were you shooting to check this? I've developed a habit of just throwing a ColorChecker into all my setups and creating a LUT from that in Resolve, so maybe this has corrected any shifting that could be happening.

I have a magenta shift in Custom mode only. Checked with the in built vector scope and on my edit suite.

I don't think the OP is suggesting a general camera issue , but just an individual camera adjustment problem . i had that on my F3 after servicing once. You can check by doing a white balance under a known color - daylight or tungsten is best and comparing that to the preset. I believe in both our cases the preset had a magenta shift. Sony fixed mine right away though I had to talk to the tech about it because at first he tested it on a work table that was fluorescent. In fact Surinder, I suggest including a note telling them to make sure they don't test under fluorescents - use tungsten. Otherwise the push white balance will match the preset magenta shift and they will think everything is fine. If you go to Sony repair in LA ask for Edgar Jaime as he was my tech and will remember.

I feel like this is an incredibly silly oversight for a tech to make. Everyone knows that fluorescents have a green tint, a tech should definitely know this.

Thanks Lenilenapi.

I think this may be just a fault on my camera.

I'm based in the UK so I'll need to send it to a UK based Sony service centre.

Guy it may be interesting to see if anyone else has this issue in Custom Mode. Dial in 5600k and shoot something white under daylight kinoflos, HMI's or even outside. Check with the vector scope onboard or bring a recorded clip into you edit suite and check with scopes.

When I first shot with the FS7 when I got it and did Kelvin WB 5600K it had a major magenta shift. When I posted the samples I made sure everyone knew that. When doing manual WB from the button the camera nailed it every time. I do use Kelvin and tweak it in the paint setting.

Babu - that is exactly the problem & I suggest you get it fixed .
Do not test it with Kinos or HMIs as those may have magenta green shifts .

Daylight or tungsten is reliable .
I suspect this is pretty common and people just don't check it . In my case the camera was fine until a board was teplaced by Sony - so it was obviously a mistake .
I remember Art Adams used to post that F3s had a green shift but I checked 4 of them that didn't .
The one he used was in regular rotation at a good rental house - but they never checked either . Don't know if Art believed me.

By the way - my tech was embarressed he missed something so obvious . He was a good guy .

Good point. I'll do it in January when work is slow. Still have 2 shoots I need to use it for. I didn't think it was a major problem though as it was correctable both with manual WB and tweaking the Kelvin in the paint settings.

Well I just checked my camera and there is a very slight shift to magenta on the preset also, but it is very slight. On my F3 it was definitely more. The amount of my shift is not worth bothering about.
