Terry;

I emailed you to (hopefully) get on the wait list for the FS5 kit. Getting one in hand by mid-December would be fabulous.

The Sony FS5 works with the SWIT S-8U63 (2015 Version), $195.

There's enough clearance to use the Convergent Design CD-OD-DTAP D-TAP Power Cable to power the Odyssey7Q+.

The Sony BP-U60T battery for $318 is an option. The problem with the Sony BP-U60T is that it uses a hard to find Hirose style connector that you have to adapt.

SWIT S-8U63 Battery 63Wh/4400mAh $195
Sony BP-U30 28 Wh $150
Sony BP-U60 57 Wh $300
Sony BP-U60T 57 Wh $318
Sony BP-U90 85 Wh $450

Sony FS5 and FS7 DC Port Are the Same

Was able to confirm that the DC port on the FS5 is the same as the FS7.

Used a DC to D-Tap Adapter cable to test.

Sony FS5 review: A grab and shoot camera for the large sensor era

"The FS5 combined with the Convergent Design 7Q+ recorder/monitor gives us a 10 bit signal and using the Redrock Micro Remote thumbwheel/wireless controller on the Movi 10 gives us full focus control. The setup is still relatively light and the footage looks awesome! I’m powering the Micro Remote with a D-tap out of a Swit S-8U63 battery on the FS5 and mounting the FS5 LCD and Micro Remote Base Station onto the camera using the 1/4-20 mounts to help balance out the heavy lenses. It’s so great that Sony has so many 1/4-20 options on top of the camera."

Terry, do you have any idea how long that SWIT battery could power the FS5 and a PIX E5 at the same time? I'm thinking about the combination, but the PIX seems to be pretty power hungry, lasting only 35 minutes or so when using one of the Sony batteries directly on the unit.

Eidolon - I recently did a shoot with the Pix-E5 and put 2 Sony batts on the unit. It ran all day (shutting it down for lunch) and still had plenty of power when we wrapped. So my experience was just the opposite... not power hungry at all.

We got 1 hour 58 minutes of record run time with the Swit battery powering both the FS5 and the Odyssey7Q+.
