Is this NOT the exact same thing that happens with some Blackmagic cameras and even the ARRI Alexa?
You do know it can be fixed with one mouse click in DiVinci Resolve 12, right?

Yes the black sun issue was present in BMD and the Alexa, but they were both addressed by firmware upgrades - as they should be. You can fix it in post, but try explaining that to your client when they ask you why the hell is the sun black. Not cool. Glad to hear Sony are jumping on the issue.
