F65: Sony F65 on ebay right now at 3k

"There's no reserve so bid away but anything less than $25k not gonna do it." Hate to break it to you, buddy, but that's not how eBay works. Checked his seller rating negative comments and I see he likes to sell stuff at no reserve, but then cancel the sale if he doesn't get what he wants. Setting a reserve price ain't that hard (though it's kinda stupid, just set the first bid to a price you want). This guy can go pound sand.
 
It's interesting how the F65 seems to be appreciating in value as of lately. Not too long ago I had seen them selling for under 20K on Ebay. I was personally offered a F65 package for under 20K when I was looking for a F35. But it wasn't what I was looking for in terms of aesthetics. Although the price was a very good deal at the time. Especially if I consider that in the end I didn't really spend much less on my F35 package. No regrets though.

I think since Besson used the camera and now Storaro and Allen, it has picked up some cachet. That's a good thing.
 
I see it closed at $24k. Not bad. Slightly surprised, actually.

I've actually heard rental houses in Europe seem to be renting them more now. Not sure why. Probably renting at cheaper prices?

I can confirm that places like Radiant Images and 444 here in the US seem to be renting them pretty frequently as well...which came as a surprise to me, since I've just assumed nobody even knows about this camera...haha.

I recently seen Testament of Youth, which I think was a very interesting use of the camera. Certainly not for everybody, but I liked it.

It was a very recent project, just beginning post. Not sure when the Director/Producer will let it go public. I'll keep you posted once I find out.
