[WTB] Sony F3

Looking for a Sony F3 or Canon C100. Prices are very close on the used market (a few C100's have popped up lately) and I'm still trying to make up my mind as to which fits me best, so it may come down to the best deal. Lack of SDI, 8bit, and 60p makes the C100 less desirable but I can deal with that given low-light abilities, etc. it has going for it. I'm in LA. Must be USA based.

The c100 is compact no doubt and a great camera but the F3 is a work horse meeting the demands for almost any shooting requirements. Add or rent an Odyssey and your off to the races.

Thank you Bill but these are lucky to get $5000 on ebay now so we are too far apart I think. I lost an auction last month due to work. The sale price was $4700 on that one.

Yes I agree about the F3 being a workhorse. Too bad about market (paid work employers) perception. Soon they will all want "4K' even though they don't need it or could even tell the difference. This is why I have to get an incredible deal... a year from now the F3 wont be worth $3k. The C100 works with my lenses as is but the lack of 60p is really bothering me. Why wont someone make a camera with a reasonable price that does what we all need!? (The F55 is perfect but recovering $30K would take me a LONG time.)

I know all too well about ebay, Clist, current camera prices and what people have been getting as I am watching full time since I'm in the market. For example, Alan Gordan has been selling F3's for about $5500 and have done this several times. They have one listed right now for close to this price and are not getting it. BrainBox cameras, also in LA, has had one for sale for $5900 for about a month now and can't sell it. The F3 is now worth around $4-5k because that is all people (might) pay for it. Hold onto it as a B-cam and it will be worth $3K soon. Logical? Not in my book. Unfortunate facts but true. People like the word "canon" and they are starting to ask about 4K so that is why the F3 is falling like a brick in the resale world. I don't even want to own a camera because of this modern-day, one-up technology game but lately I have needed something. Renting is very cumbersome for last minute jobs and the rates don't allow much on the top. I should have kept the AF100 I guess.
