We are a avid shop here and we are running the pix 240 though its paces using our Sony f3. The problem we are running into is i can seem to output a 1080p 23.98 from the f3 into the pix and record it to the DNXHD 36 format. The pix keeps giving me a error saying dnxhd 36 only works with 1080p signals. i have check and made sure that the f3 is not adding a pull down to the sdi signal but beyond that im not sure what to do.

Try setting Pix to record in PSF and "Same as input". (not a Pix owner educated guess) The F-3 does not output a 60i pull-down out of the A port, only the monitor out. It does PSF when in 30/24 p mode. If your in 1080 60i HQ then A will out put 60i.

So I checked out the pix, and set the input psf dected to interprate 1080i as psf. But to no avail when I hit record I still get the dnxhd 36 only works with 1080p.

Also as a side issue i get no signal coming out of my A port only out of my SDI port.

I have successfully shot DNxHD w/ the PIX. You must select output as 23.98 in the menu. PIX must be set to "Same as Input" or force it to record 23.98. Output via SDI-A is activated in the output menu- I believe it's the first option in that menu.
