I came across someone who is selling an F23 for $1200 though, it doesn't have the external interface box. Is it worth buying without it or should I look elsewhere and find a body with it or save up the cash for the F35.

Yeah! The advantage of the F23 is you wont get any light artificating like i do sometimes going out the SDI on the panavision. the F900 bodies were not designed to shoot 10bit out the SDI so there are areas of the signal, mostly by high contrast or lights where you get these vertical line artificats, almost like 80s video game banding.. its strange.. hense why i shoot HDCAM tape and just digitize that as prores. works for me just fine! :)

Is it the common 'Fixed Pattern Noise'? (Maybe not if you don't see it on the tapes.)

I watched your other video on why you chose to shoot on older cameras than following the trend. When you spoke about the issues you came across F900 with its SDI's, it had me worried if I ventured and purchased the F23 I would come across a similar issue in post. Though, like you mention the F23 doesn't suffer from this issues which puts my mind at ease.

I think so. It was just a touch more than i wanted to spend. But still afordable. I just didn’t want to put another grand into it all. Still a cool camera. What will you be usingnit for?

The person had it for $1200 then $950. Then that final price. Well I'm going to use it to shoot corporate/shorts/music videos with it.

Right now, I'm digging through old manuals, reviews and spec sheets on how to properly expose it since its not like today's camera light monsters. I don't mind it since I always loved the CCD image from the Digital Bolex/Ikonoscop/F35, so I had to jump and get this little gem.

cool! Look forward to some of your screengrabs or video links!

Seeing how there is a “logo” scrape out, i am assuming thisnis one of those Panavised ones that were selling for $500 a few months ago.
