Sony EX3 or NO ??

The EX1 and Ex3 look like plastic cases but are actually made of metal and sprayed black. How do I know? my brother is a sony technician in the UK and currently has my EX1 in bits on the bench for a little repair, I was very surprised as it does look like plastic from the outside but is not sprayed on the inside. Looking at my EX3 I put two split rings on the strap brackets for a quick portabrace strap and the area where it has been rubbing is now shiny metal.

Yep, the EX1/3 are definitely made mostly of metal. Leave it outside in the cold and bring it in. Cold like metal.

Also, knock on it with your knuckles. Plastic doesn't make that sound.

Any idea what type of metal though, Steve?
