Sony EX1

not true - used are very much closer to $5100 - this is a great solid performer and wouldn't expect it to depreciate quickly as there is little competition in that price point

There's no reason why they should fall like the hvx at this point. In my opinion they are in a different price point/class and are fairly new cameras. If someones selling one for $4000-4500 you should really question why and be very careful.

Cheers

Agreed 100%. If you saw one go on ebay for $4500, I'd suspect there was something fishy going on with the sale. They're just not going that low yet.

Considering the price of the EX1 and EX3 has just risen considerably in the UK I doubt they will go that low.

I am currently selling my EX1 on Ebay because I am getting an EX3. I expect it to reach £4000-£4500. Currently a new EX1 in the UK from a Sony dealership costs £5200 inc VAT.

the EX3 is selling for less than 9k on ebay. If I remember correctly, it started at 13k or something like that.

I think you'll see it drop faster than the HVX. The HVX was out for two years before there was other viable competition. I don't think the EX1 will have that life before something better is on the market for cheaper and without having to do the hack thing.... It's good to have competition.
