Hello i would like to know if there is any media converting (pro res 422) when dropping in the footage for editing like nikon and canon have to do before working on the footage
XDCAM Transfer software for FCP rewraps the data into quicktime (.mov) wrapper to edit on XDCAM EX timeline. I can see no reason to transcode XDCAM footage to ProRes. I would, however, set render controls to render in ProRes to avoid long conforming times.
