I've a problem with my deck, a Sony DSR11. I use it for a year on my mac and I tried it on a PC and it doesn't work. Now, I doesn't even work on my mac. I can rewind, play it on TV but when I connect it with the firewire, the mac doesn't see it. What should I do? I tried to reset it but didn't change anything.

There's a few things to check.
First off, check the cable. Try one that you knwo is good.
Then try another firewire port if available.
Try plugign some other Firewire device in place of the DSR-11 (if you use a DVX [or any camera really], run it on battery power, not plugged in!)
Then check the deck with another computer.
If you get this far and can't find the bug, then they may be a bigger problem.

There's a few posts on the topic.
Basically there's a risk of causing a loop from the wall to the wall trough the computer and the camera by way of the firewire cable, that results in a voltage difference. The DVX is paticularly senstive to these diferentiations and you can easily fry it's firewire port that way.
