Hey,
I've got a question for anybody out there that is familar with the Sony DSR-11 DVR.
I purchased it new from B&H about 9 months ago. I only have about 25 hours on the deck and it has been sent in for repair twice.
Both times my master DV tape got stuck in the deck, and the unit had to be sent in to the main Sony repair office.
They said "it needed to be aligned & adjusted to meet there specs, and the repair costs were covered under their basic one year warranty".
Besides the costs involved in shipping the unit back to the company, it really delayed the projects that I was working on. I asked them if they had any type of "Lemon Policy",
and they said that they have nothing like that with electronic products.
So to say the least I have become a little concerned about the reliability of my DVR.
But here is the real kicker, I got my deck and master tape back, inserted my tape into it, and it did it again. My master tape is stuck in the deck again!! Aagghh!!!
I am sending it back again, this time the are being generous enough to pick up the shipping cost.
My one year warranty is gonna run out fairly soon and now I'm afraid to even put anything into this tape eating machine that I have.
Does anyone have any advise on convincing Sony that my deck is a lemon?
Has anyone out there had any problem similar to this with the DSR-11 deck?
I bought it because I had often heard people calling it a real "workhorse" in the industry. I hate to think that my "workhorse" needs to go out and pasture after only 25 hours of work.
Thanx,
Todd
