Sony DHR editing deck problems - Please help

HI,

I have a Sony DHR-1000B/NP/VC VCR and editing deck. When I edit tapes and add in sound on stereo 2 channel it works fine during playback on this machine. As soon as I send the data to my Sony DVD recorder via the DV cable I lose the sound recorded on the stereo 2 channel.

If I take the same recording and send it to the same DVD recorder via the lan cables through the back of the DHR then it records the audio of the stereo 2 channel but there is a compromise in quality. I tried everything to fix this...:(

I had a guy over who fixed it one time but he refused to show me how to fix it. Every time the DHR is switched off it loses the setting.

Can some one please help??
