Sony Cinema Line & FX6

Here's hoping it's an A7Siii in a video body (with an SDI output on there somewhere)!

The 4k sensor would keep it from treading on the toes of its 6k-sensored big brother. And with all of the 10-bit 4:2:2 codecs of the A7Siii (and the proper 120fps option) ideally alongside the same Prores Raw output via HDMI.... well, that'd be a wonderful little video camera.

So an ND XLR AF 10bit camera of low mass is the the holy grail to me.

Competition would be the rumoured canons.

Do either have an EVF ?

THis screen is better than a fixed on the back screen (that will be on the canons)

This is IMO better shape than the rumoured canons.

Might even take my stock of BPU

28-135 or 24-105 (how bad is the 24-105?)

To me its looking a little better than the rumoured canons.

Emount fits my current adapter infrasturcture.

Now this is what I've been waiting for. Curious to see where it falls between the FX9 and A7S. Would love to have the autofocus and high speed modes.

The one other feature I'd love to see is to be able to properly name files similar to how the FS7 was able to. That was my biggest gripe with the FS-5 was the constant clip 0001 type file names. Sadly I see this feature probably being left out so it doesn't approach upon FX9 territory but one can dream right

The earlier rumor about the FX6 said it would only do 4K30p with crappy codecs. It's entirely possible that the A7SIII will cleanly outspec the FX6.

FX9 is overkill for the corporate videos I do where my FS7 and FS5 often work in pair and are asked for. No one so far ask for FX9. But with that great Sony AF and hopefully full 10-bit video and not to steep of a price I'm in. The form factor of the FS5 is excellent and this one apart from the missing EVF looks even better.

Let's not forget that the A7SIII in some ways outspecs the FX9. They won't let the FX6 outspec it as well.

Hmmm... This has got my attention... any info on possible date of more info / release date???

Ok, I'll bite... what are those ways?

4k120p. Also, the FX9 will have a slight crop on 4k60p.

Grug was fantasizing about an A7SIII sensor/framerates in the fx6

I doubt the FX6 will have FX9 codecs either

My guess is the same 6K sensor as FX9. That way it's arguably better than the A7SIII while delivering less fps, Mbps and bits

If you take a look at the pictures of the FX6
body, there are a couple things you can
know for sure. First thing, it will have the
variable ND (yay!). Second thing, it will
have slow motion of some type. Both the
variable ND and the S&Q button are clearly
visible in the pictures of the FX6 body.

If you look on most gig platforms -- Indeed, Mandy, Glassdoor, Mediamatch, etc. prob 7 out of 10 job request an FS7 (the other 3 are usually C300mkii/c200). It's what producers know and trust now. But in the future the FX9 will be the camera of choice. And the updated Canon C series, too...
