Hi again... just wondering how good the HDVF is for handheld work. Just tried a Small HD 502 which I liked, but I am a little bothered by tons of wires and batteries...

Have been looking for a c30wr for a while, but before I pull the trigger on one, I would love to hear your user experiences... thanks!

Used to use one at times shooting with the F900. I liked it well enough at the time and it was built well, as most of that type of gear was aimed at the broadcast and high-end market back then(I think it was at least $12K new). But as it's been over a decade since I've used one, I can't really make a great comparison to todays color VF's, image wise. I do remember it being a little warm compared to the actual recorded image, though.

I would say that today's new viewfinders likely exceed it, but it is a good match for the F35 and is easily used with the native viewfinder port. That has advantages because it leaves your SDI monitor port free, and allows you to run different overlay settings on the SDI port.

Honestly, if you can stretch to it, go for the Gratical Eye instead.

The resolution, LUT capabilities and monitoring features just make the camera substantially easier to operate.

Thanks guys... gratical eye seems a great option... a little pricey and I love the no-mess c30wr appproach...

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I went for a C30WR and I am really happy with the VF so far. Happy New Year.
