So, does anyone know if the Sony LA-FZB1 B4-FZ adapter will work mechanically and electrically with the Sony F3?
Seems like it should but ya never know...

Physically I would think YES.

Stuff like auto iris, and control from RM-B remote, or lens info, etc.. seems to be exclusive to the F5/F55 only.

It also seems to offer chromatic aberration compensation and minimizes the light falloff at the edges.

I am keen on getting a B4 2/3" lens for my F55 but actually I will use a pure mechanical adapter and with the 2x double built into the lens I can extract out the frame from a 4k image in post and be left with something slightly larger than 2k.

Not sure if others are aware but the F5/F55 also has a firmware coming soon that will let it shoot 2k center crop mode, so no need to crop in post.

Ideally you would only need 1.5x magnification to cover the 2k crop so even the MTF B4 adapter would work well on the F5/F55.

Curious if the adapter only works with a center crop.
All I'd really need electrically would be start/stop.

The Sony adapters are 2.6x magnification. They are not related at all to the 2k cropped mode coming out on the F5/F55.

The 2k crop mode is geared more toward use of 16mm lenses.

The Sony adapter has a 2.6x magnification and a 2.6 stop light loss. It will fit the F3 but I do not think any of the electrical connectivity will function. It is more expensive than the HDx35 and as it is native FZ mount instead of PL you may find the HDx35 to be the better deal.

Sony has two models, FZB1 it seems cheaper than FZB2, anyone has official prices? HDx35 cost $ 5,800
