Sony A7Sii compatible cards?

I have an upcoming shoot with this camera, as a rental. The rig is rented without memory cards, and I have not been able to find information on compatible SD cards. Does anyone have access to this information?

I'm a bit puzzled as to why I cannot find the operations manual for the camera. I presume that would be the most authoritative guide to this information, although the set of compatible cards inevitably has probably grown/changed since the ops manual was published.

Grant.

Data rate is low in this camera, pretty much almost everything will work besides very old cards from a decade ago.

Per usual, test any you have if planning on using those.

I think that's true, but they could have crippled it.

for example, my a7siii won't record all-intra 240Mbps 4K 24p on anything less than a v90 card. But it will record 250Mbps (s&Q 50Mbps on 120fps into 24p) in long-gop onto a v60 as well as other settings of equivalent or greater nitrate. But no all-i on less than v90

Times were simpler when it was introduced (2015) and there weren't even as many branded V60 cards out on the market.

Thanks both, much appreciated. As I guessed, there's some irksome details lurking. For now, and with a Tuesday shoot pending, I went for Sandisk UHS-II class cards. Can either of you point me to towards the FS7ii? Unable to find it thru any Sony site I have visited. Have a great rest of weekend.

It's pretty straightforward for the a7SII, especially today because the camera's highest data rate as mentioned is nothing for modern cards.

Here's the manual for the a7sII: http://www.sony.com/electronics/supp.../45815341M.pdf

It doesn't even mention V60 because not many V60 cards likely weren't even for sale at the time of the publication.

Here's the manual for the FS7: https://pro.sony/ue_US/support-resources/pxw-fs7/manual

And FS7II: https://pro.sony/en_CM/support-resou...w-fs7m2/manual

Personally, I don't have a comment on cards for this camera(s) because the system is more demanding and it's best to find trusted media.

My apologies! I see I wrote 'FS7ii' when I meant to say A7Sii ! But you kindly provided both!

The camera I am going to use looks like it is arriving Monday night, and I'm shooting with it Tuesday morning. Trying not to worry.....

I have an audio cable that is dual XLR-F's, to stereo mini-plug. I am hoping, from what I see in the manual, that this is going to support 2 channels going in? I know that the smaller a camera body gets, the more 'discovery' there is with inputs.....

... longer term, and once I am thru this shoot, I will be looking to see if there's an accessory that would allow XLR-M cable ends to be brought straight to the camera for audio in. That would be the simplest/best for the vagaries of field production.

That would be ideal. We're just doing a few days of interviews, primary camera is my PMW-F5, but it would be great I think if we could split the boom and lav mics and duplicate them to the A7Sii.

If it was 2001, they would probably try to sell it for $10,000.

The Japanese made a lot of money from their electronics empire.
