Sony A7S vs Sony F35 - the big vs the small.

Sorry to get back on topic ;-), but what my semi-untrained eyes see is a more natural rendering of skin tones with the F35 and more than often the A7s rendering skins in a wax-ish way (sorry for my lack of proper terminology).
Do you guys share the same feeling?
In other videos, there are perfectly fine flesh tones, though. I'm struggling to understand where this comes from.

that video shot on the a7s will sell a lot of cameras. Do you know his picture profile - his color gamut and all that?
 
While that video looks pretty good artistically wise, I don't think it shows any special performance by the camera that was used, it could have been shot with mostly anything made this days and it would look about the same in my opinion.
 
May that be true...

But my FS100 will definitely look different regarding highlight rolloff.
Okay, some of these issues can be taken care in post and with the
right PP, but it will never look like this.

That's just my opinion and may lack the experience that others have here.
FS700, F3, BMCC and alikes are a different story...
 
I'm not a fan of the weird blurs added in post, unless there was something really wacky going on with the lens. lots of out of focus and into the sun making for a pretty edit to watch but not a good gauge of the camera. I agree with Ed though, it's always the silly videos like these selling the cameras.

This is a bit off topic I know, and I always have the choice not to read these pages and post, but the really exciting feeling I used to get logging onto the F35 thread is gone. There is no more innovation or exploration of a new world.
It's not that Mac is our leader we follow blindly, but he did make a really bold move buying into the F35 and figuring out the workflow before anyone else. It's not that it was extremely difficult, but beyond big camera crews, the F35 was unused in this way before.

But the argument over the merit of this camera has gone to exhausting levels. I see people like Viddo and JM tirelessly correcting the misinformation over and over again. No one likes to spend the time reading everything before they post, I'm sure we are all guilty of that, but I feel the F35 conversation has become a cycle of the same questions of this vs this. Remember when blackmagic released the 4k global shutter camera and it was the death for the F35? Where is that camera now? Not on my shelf.

Of course we need all sides of the opinion, this isn't a cult! But perhaps I need to stop venturing into these vs. threads for a while. It just brings me down, when I used to log into dvx/F35 to get excited.

Why? I was down when the A7s was not as good as I was expecting and still the F35 kills it at most levels. It's like, damn it, now that I wanted to get rid of this "heavy" body the damn thing keeps proving it's totally worth having.

And I´m here currently cutting projects shot on the F35. I just wish you guys could see some of the footage, but it's not new that my projects take years to complete, so I'm working with things shot 2 years ago...

What silliness is that?! For your information, I am in touch with him since the early days, you know? I have no clue where you were 10-9 years ago... But I know where we, he and I, we were. We have exchanged private messaging in different forums, I was even attacked in one forum out of here only because I had defended him publicly (where were you then?) we are contacts on skype, we've even done it a couple of days ago... via PM, yes.

One thing is to discuss a viewpoint, another thing is to think there's anything personal, come on, it doesn't make any sense. I could even joke with him about to be jealous of him... ask him. Maybe the fact some intimacy which crosses the fact to share some other fellows as common friends and so on, we arrive to a point we are used to know some poster much more than the rest of the group, and it may have produced this nonsensical idea from your part. Sad to beware of it. I see you are not my usual reader... Should I start to cry now? LOL :-)

Hope this can clarify you or anyone as much distracted as you. If there is one who has highlighted his talent this guy is me but from day one, when he was used to post his experiments with Jonathan Houser's "magical tube" (35mm adapter called Guerrilla before to be branded and, of course, earlier DSLRs. Not only when others have joined to the party ;-)

I'm not sure if it's drugs or bad english, but I have no idea WTF you are saying Emanuel. You reply to your own post and quote yourself!!? You seem very ego hurt that we know who Mac is and no one has ever heard of the great Emanuel, FROM 10 YEARS AGO, holy cow could I even walk then?

Maybe save your writing for your journal next to your bed, I can not find any information or opinions you have contributed to this conversation. Maybe I'm just too stupid but you do not make sense.

If no filter is it some sort of tilt and shift, maybe a string behind the lens?
