Sony A7s problem with manual mode

I am a new user of the a7s and I am having an issue with shooting both stills and video. my problem is that when shooting stills and I have stopped down the lens at anything less than wide open my exposure when switching to video will revert to wide open. I am using a commlite adapter with any canon glass. is this behavior due to using an adapter? thoughts?

If "when switching to video" means you're turning the mode wheel at the top, keep in mind that you can also shoot video in M mode, AFAIK the only thing you lose is cropmarks and audio levels (which will appear when you hit record but not when you're preparing the shot).

sorry, I was not clear, I am doing both still and video shooting in "Manual Mode". it appears the Commelite has a bug that produces the problem I described.
