Sony A7S Manual Vs. Movie Mode

I noticed that while on Manual Picture Mode you are able to use focus assist - where the camera zooms in for a more efficient way of focusing, but while on Movie Mode I don't seem to be able to get that feature. Is there any reason one should shoot video on Movie Mode? If there is, is there a way to still use focus assist? I'd appreciate any help or comments on this.

Press the C1 button right by the shutter. That will give you the ability to zoom in to adjust focus, in either mode.
