Not sure if this is a common knowledge, but I was pleasantly suppressed when I found this link today, so I figured someone might find it useful. To me it was interesting to learn that only two Sony lenses are fully compatible with A7S.

On the side note I was researching Sony PZ 18-105 f4 G OSS and how it works when combined with A7S. Unfortunately, other than few words here and there I didn't find anything really useful. I would really appreciate if anyone that used this combination in real world situation ( such as wedding or any other live event ) would share their experience and let us know if they recommend it.

The 18-105 works great with the A7S!
Obviously you have to be in crop mode. One neat thing is that if you have digital zoom activated, it seamlessly continues zooming after 105mm. Can be very handy at times.

Looking at the compatibility list. Almost all things are non-issues. Like mentioning that steady shot function isn't working on lenses that don't have OSS. Or that non full frame lenses will have a narrower field of view due to apps-c mode. Those things are rather obvious ;)

Only two Sony lenses are fully compatible with A7S ? Really ? What lenses are they ? B&H shows 34 FE mount lenses :

And 67 E mount cine lenses :

The FE 70-200 and the 24-240.
But see my post above. The Sony site shows them as not fully supported if you can't use the steady shot. Which obviously is only available for lenses that has optical stabilisation. So lenses without OS show up as not fully compatible.
Same goes for aps-c lenses, most of them are fully compatible in crop mode but as they don't work in full frame mode they are not listed as fully compatible on the Sony site.

I'm guessing my 30 year-old Minolta's are not on the list. Oh, well. Work great. Full frame, too. You'd have to fight me to the death to have them.
