Uh? You want focus breathing?
 
I believe he's complaining about focus breathing on an otherwise awesome lens. And I'm happy that he did because that 85mm is very high on my wish list and now I know that it does have shortcomings other than being expensive.
 
But also sounded like he didn't like the slow smooth focus when filming. To be that is one of the great things about the Sony E Mount lenses for video, you can actually use the footage even as it focuses... No weird focus jumps etc...
 
Sorry to jump in this tread but has anyone else noticed Smile \ Face Detect on the A7Sii doesn't work when using an external monitor? It's greyed out in the menu when my SmallHD 502 monitor is powered on. I'm referring to shooting in 4K mode.
 
i find the slow smooth focus way too slow, yes. You can sometimes barely see it happening it's so slow. Shame you cant customise this speed. I think you might be able to on the a7rii and a7ii.

No I dont want focus breathing. Its dire on this lens. A lovely lens, but far from perfect.
