Just a heads that if you're gonna shoot with an EVF make sure its 1080 and not 720 or similar (such as the TV Logic EVF) because you wont be able to use it with the A7s, as I found out today. Annoyingly you'll have to loop through another monitor or similar.
 
I just hooked up my Ninja, Cineroid EVF, Zacuto EVF, and a cheap Hdmi monitor, my Marshall 5in, Ikan 7 in. They all work fine. Dude.

Down conversion often happens in the EVF. If it is not displaying correctly, it is most likely your EVF, not the 1080 hdmi signal.
 
Bern, apologies, that's really weird. When I clicked the link you posted it didn't load the front half of that article so all I saw was a link to a camera cage... hence my confusion. God knows what was going on with my EVF then. Thanks for your responses everyone. Especially you, dustylense..... DUDE.
