Sony a6500 VRS A7iii

Is it me or does the a6500 seem to look a bit more cinematic then the new a7iii? Ive watched countless videos of both, and I've noticed that the a7iii highlights look a tad bit more harsh vas the a6500, and peoples skin texture seem to be smoothed out and plastic looking compared to the a6500 which produces an organically sharp skin texture, and for some odd reason, better skin tones? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this. Oh and the motion on the a6500 in 24p mode seems vastly better as well. If someone who maybe has exp. with both could chime in I would really appreciate it? I'm leaning towards picking up the 6500 if this be the case.

Wouldn't full frame vs. APS-C be a bigger factor than which camera has the edge on skin tones and highlights? What is your plan for lenses?

Are you watching direct comparison videos with identical settings for each camera? The discrepancy could be due to differences in scene, picture profile, operator, lighting, filters, and post processing.

I have an A6300, which I think has pretty much the same look as the A6500, but I haven't shot with the A7 III.

I'm looking for answers from someone who owns, or has had direct contact with both cameras. However the over smoothing of the a7iii has Everything to do with the camera.
