Here's another short comparison with the A7sII and GH4, a6300 looks sharper to me:
Go with the Video Devices PIX-E5 and not the Atomos Assassin. With the 5er monitor you will get a better proportion in size to the little A6300, during your 'event work' you will not have that much damage because the PIX is of much better build quality and you may even ad with the the soon to come PIX-LR attachment two balanced XLR audio inputs with high quality Sound Devices preamps to the A 6300.
What are the advantages of the PIX-LR over the Tascam DR-60D? Tascam is way cheaper.
Both will do. But with the Video Devices solution you will get a compact unit of video and audio recorder. No cables between them and you start recording both with one button. Recording is much more direct passing just through the Sound Devices preamps and not the preamps of lesser quality of the Assassin or the camera.
Disadvantage: You may not audio record without the PIX-E.
All the sony cameras have 4k out over HDMI. I am sure the A 6300 will do that too. An open question is wether the A 6300 will output 120 fps over HDMI as it is recording internally. This would be the first compact Sony camera to offer that. And the PIX-5 with the latest firmware would record that.If the a6300 does not have SDI then I don't think you will get 4K to the PIX-E5.
I'm talking out of memory and I may be wrong, but I think you got this one backwards: the PIX-E5 records 4K over HDMI but only 1080p over SDI.If the a6300 does not have SDI then I don't think you will get 4K to the PIX-E5.
Is the A6300 going to have the same HFR modes from the RX10II and RX100IV? The 240fps on the RX100IV is very usable.
