Sony a6300 announced

That autofocus is impressive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rv9a1g5iu8

Kind of stinks that the XLR attachment(s) are 50-70% of the price of the camera (it's nice it includes a mic too, but wish they sold it without the mic). At least Sony is offering one (looking at you Canon).

Also really wish that there was a headphone jack, I just mean seriously, why does this seem like asking for so much?

sorry to read no headphone jack.

sony wants us to put xlr mics via the hot shoe but doesn't want us to monitor the same audio.

it makes very little sense.

be well.

Can you post a link to this XLR attachment?

Man those specs are sweet (aside from the missing headphone jack).

But that body style, argh. If this was in a 60D style body I wouldn't be able to hold onto my money if I tried.

Forget the headphone jack; they put in a mic input! So much more important...and they could have very easily left it out.

If you need to monitor audio, you're probably working on a professional project and you probably have an external monitor that you can use to see/hear levels.

If not, you can get this little thing that weighs 90 grams. Like a paper clip.

While that's nice, where are you going to mount it on the camera when you have the Sony XLR adaper attached? Then you'd need a cage system and it all become more complex. With a headphone jack you can monitor the audio coming in through the XLR adapter straight from the camera and use the camera's build in LCD screen to view the footage. Nice and compact.
