Sony A6000 HDMI recording issues

I recently got a little sony a6000 to puts around with and i wanted to see if my KiPro that i use with my varicam would work with this little thing. It does, but with one issue.. When the camera is in 1080p/24p mode, it outputs 1080p/59.94, so i thought maybe it will work if i put it in 1080i and it will just add a pulldown.. nope, 1080i/29.97... very strange... can i not get true 24p from the HDMI?

The first thing I would check (if you can) is your camera with another modern recorder. Cameras and capturing devices have always had random issues somehow and somewhere with something since the beginning of their collaborations. A lot of troubleshooting can also be remedied with settings as well.

Regardless, the camera will never output true 24p, but only 23.98p (if it can at all).

I actually went ahead and returned the a6000 and got a Panasonic G7. It was on sale and IMO a far better camera for video.

Been using my two A6000 for a couple years now with Ninja 2's and never had an issue, nothing but good experiences. Posted for those playing the home game.

Well in a strange set of events, i returned to best buy and forked over the extra money and got the GH4.. couldn't be happier.

Now...that's the best camera ever made for the price.

Not sure which recorder you'll be using with it (if any), but you're able to output 4:2:2 (8-bit) from the camera (it's in the settings).

EDIT: Previous post originally said a6300.
