damn i hope someone can help me on this as I gave my camera to someone to look at and he dropped it on the floor. Luckily no external damage is evident so everything is set in place- just the memory card got our of its place but was easily put back in. Everything inside seems to work - it can take pictures and shoot videos normally but the flash looks like its acting up and theres always an error popping up on the screen with the Steadyshot logo right next to it as you can see from the attached image. I would really appreciate on any potential solutions to this????? Ive tried resetting it - takin out battery- recharging etc....but nothing

The A57 relies on shifting the sensor to achive image stabilization and it seems your friend damaged that mechanism when he dropped the camera. The only way to fix it is to send it back to Sony for repairs since this is a mechanical issue (and common in dropped cameras). If you don't get it fixed, your camera will not utilize image stabilization and pictures you take at slow shutter speeds will be more blurry compared to ones taken with a working SteadyShot.
