Sony 60i converted to 24p

Sorry, I keep posting this same question in several areas of the forum, in hopes of getting an answer... (This is an important question to me, and I really appreciate all of your opinions and expertise.)

Does anyone have any footage shot with an FX1 (NTSC, 60i) and converted to 24p on Vegas that they can post?

I am shooting a project that will stay in video (i.e., no film out), but I want to attain as much of a film look as possible within my limited budget. My camera options are either the FX1 (NTSC converted to 24p), or the DVX100 with a 16x9 adaptor. I love the DVX100, but I'd really like to shoot in HDV if the 24p conversion created by Vegas is good enough.

Thanks in advance!
Ben

Your camera is not 24p capable. Get a 24p camera then you can do it. Sony's are not 24p until you get to the Varicams. BUY a Panasonic, JVC or a Canon. Unless you can afford a Varicam you will not be 24p capable with Sony. My recommendation...Ebay it and get a HVX200 or the new Canon XL or the JVC GY-HD100U. Do it in ebay and get rid of it before the price goes further down.

Varicam is Panasonic. Maybe you meant XDCam? CineAlta?

Ben, you might want to google around for FX1 sample footage and do the 24p conversion in Vegas yourself.

Here's one possible place for sample footage:

In my experience, using Vegas to change 60i footage to 24p does take some of the 'video' look away. It does not look like native 24p footage, but rather something in between (similar to Canon's frame mode)
