Sony 18-110 F4 PZ lens FS700 compatibility

Would anyone venture a guess as to whether the yet-to-be-released Sony 18-110 PZ lens will be compatible with the FS700?

I'm wondering if this might require a firmware update, and whether Sony would continue to support the FS700 in this regard. I know the last firmware update added support for the 28-135 PZ lens, which one might assume would be very similar.

Some users on the FS7 forum feel that the FS700 AF functionality is better than the FS5 and FS7. I'm also wondering if this would also be true when using this new lens.

This is my biggest worry as a FS700 user... As Sony is more and more relying on software to control/correct their lenses, once they're no longer providing updates to a camera any new lens will be more or less useless...

Sure, I'll venture a guess. My guess would be that Sony would support the new lens on the FS700.
The software correction is probably very similar to that which would be used on the FS5 or FS7 as
they are all very similar sensors from my understanding. Also, the FS700 already received a
firmware update to allow the earlier 18-105 PZ lens (which needed similar distortion correction
via software) to work. So I don't see any reason why the FS700 wouldn't also be 'allowed' to
work with the 18-110 PZ lens.

They still sell the FS700, right? So there's hope for the 18-110 in case it needs special firmware update. But once the FS700 is terminated, any new lenses coming out after that probably won't see support for the FS700 :(

Another question I would have is if the lens is a software correction lens then will the SDI out bypass the software correction when attached to a 7Q+ making the lens useless for 4K raw recording?

Seems to be different kinds, if I understand it, lenses like the 28-135, 24-70 GM etc mostly need firmware for controls/auto focus and some stuff like that and then there's lenses like the 18-105 that needs image correction...
And seems like a dumb move if they brought out lenses that will mostly be used by higher end cameras/users that aren't useable in raw...

Anyone know how the situation is with the 28-135 and raw?

Just did a search to see if this lens is compatible with the FS700. It seems yes, but with some small caveats...

Optical SteadyShot setting on lens will switch on/off the function, but the setting is not reflected to on-screen display (LCD monitor / viewfinder) nor recorded in EXIF data.
When the iris ring is switched between auto iris mode and manual iris mode, the screen display may become temporarily distorted and the focus position may be reset. You can use this by upgrading the system software on the camera to Ver. 2.1 or later (except for Ver. 3.00).
When shooting in manual iris mode, the Exif lens name and maximum lens aperture are not recorded correctly. You can use this by upgrading the system software on the camera to Ver. 2.1 or later (except for Ver. 3.00).
In manual iris mode, the aperture value is the value set with the iris ring regardless of the exposure mode. You can use this by upgrading the system software on the camera to Ver. 2.1 or later (except for Ver. 3.00
