Has anyone purchased and used this upgrade? I see that it is now available on the B&H site. I am curious to see if there is any degradation of the image and if the card can keep up with the frame rate without failing.

Philip Bloom: " 8-bit 4:2:0 and only 25mbps as opposed to the normal 50mbps for normal speed HD."

This is not correct. What is true:

HFR Formats available with CBKZ-FS5HFR upgrade
XAVC HD 1080/60p 50Mbps / 120fps Scan Frame-rate @ 1920x1080 59.94p
XAVC HD 1080/30p 25Mbps / 120fps Scan Frame-rate @ 1920x1080 29.97p
XAVC HD 1080/24p 25Mbps / 120fps Scan Frame-rate @ 1920x1080 23.98p
XAVC HD 1080/50p 50Mbps / 100fps Scan Frame-rate @ 1920x1080 50p
XAVC HD 1080/25p 25Mbps / 100fps Scan Frame-rate @ 1920x1080 25p

So......
XAVC HD 1080/25p 25Mbps / 100fps Scan Frame-rate @ 1920x1080 25p
8-bit 4:2:0 and only 25mbps as opposed to the normal 50mbps for normal speed HD
Philip Bloom IS correct then isn't he? 25mbps being the significant figure here as opposed to the normal 50mbps?
Or is he wrong about it being 8 bit 4:2:0?

No, it is 50Mbps at 50p or 60p at the 120 fps scan rate. Not 25 Mbps. 50 Mbps is the "significant" figure here. So, these modes are not limited to 25 Mbps. Depends on what frame rates you choose for the output video.

Twice the bits on twice the frames. Sounds about right. Its just as super-compressed files as 25@25.
