Something From JVC to Look Forward To...Tomorrow

Well, if anyone doubted the power of this Board, have I got news for you. Our phone has been ringing off the hook...literally...OK not like falling off onto the floot but you get the drift. Anyway, JVC is all over this thing (not a freakin' word from IDX...imagine that!) but I want to see what happens tomorrow. In LA it's going to be a gloomy, rainy day tomorrow and just right for indoor blogging. I hope what I'm hearing is true and if it is, I'll have a story to print after Noon tomorrow that's a real-world happening, rather like the first post on IDX batteries in the field test we did last weekend. Lord, let it be true...not for our situation but for JVC's work on an overall solution for everyone who's suffering under this deal that's beciome a PR nightmare for JVC.

I'll post tomorrow after noontime if all goes well. Heck, I'll post if all goes south!!!

See you then.

Then you have a jump on what the news is, Rez. But shhhhhhhh!!!!! Let's see what happens. Nothing would please me more than to have a true hero in this. Life needds heros. I need heros. That's why 1) I was truly pleased to be able to report well and honestly on IDX's product performance to all a week or so ago and 2) my sincere disappointment in today and the IDX's Andrea issue. For whatever reason, people look up to professionals that populate this Board; professionals whose experience and integrity form the basis for others' belief in what we report. You know what I mean. From what I've read, you're one of those people who read, test, evaluate an then report. Don't you love it when you can say, "Hey, this stuff rocks. Buy it! And people do and then they post, "Thanks. You were right and I didn't waste my money!"

We have a duty...a responsibility to help people without the "Fine Print". And Martion agrees so let's see what happens tomorrow! I promise to call yu first. PM me your phone number.

Hi,

I just ordered the HD100 from BH and I'm following the saga of the IDX batteries with interest.

What is your blog URL? I'd like to read the IDX review...

Thanks,

Actually by "blog" I meant the saga recounted here in this forum. There are a number of posts in this JVC Board that talk all about the issues we've had with IDX and JVC. Bottom line is IDX are good batteries; filed tested and field passed BUT the company representatives and thus the company are not people or an organization that my company will ever do business with under any circumstances ever again. For our money, Anton Bauer is just as good, probably better and, from what I understand, understand the importance of customers and thus the importance of customer relations.

We are involved in a very complex industry whose subscription to Murphy's Law is charter. We need partners who understand and will go out of their way to deliver and that definitely does not describe IDX. You are only as good as your people and, well, Andrea I think her name is spoke volumes today about IDX after hanging up on me twice. I outfit my guys...and girls...with everything they need in camera kits and the power they take on location is a daily minimum of 400 watt hours of power per camera. That's roughly 4 E10s and 1 E7 per camera. So far I've purchased 2 E10s and one E7 for the one JVC that EVS was kind enough to loan me a back plate for anticipating the timely delivery of the Certificate program kits containing 1 E7, a battery charger and backplate each. Thus, with delivery of the 5 JVC cameras we've already picked up so far, the IDX order was to be 18 more E10s and 4 more E7s plus 5 quad quick chargers. Together with the kits IDX and JVC were to provide as part of their package HD100 deal, that would have satisfied my daily field power needs for the first 5 JVC HD100s I've already purchased. In terms of dollars, that equates to roughly $8280 for the E10s, $1470 for the E7s plus $8500 for the quick chargers for a grand total of $18,250. Thanks however to Andrea over at IDX today, we'll be spending exactly $0 with that company. And we've committed to 5 more cameras from EVS over the next few months so double that and that's how much Andrea cost IDX today; roughly $36,500. That was one expensive hang-up for no good reason at all.

Anton Bauer will be getting our business from now on. We've never had a problem with them and everyone says that to them, people are not just customers, they're partners. Let's hope that's true.

Hi jlames - Bad news the way you have been dealt with here...We have an IDX battery kit and on-camera light and all the bits for our HD101E and it is as you have reported, a great set-up and it all works very well together.
Have you written to IDX ? - as a director of a number of companies I am all to aware of how in some cases staff can have the ability to cause some major problems... It would be good to hear a response from a director of the company.... it would be very sad to see such a good product take a beating because of one individual who might be better off getting a job elsewhere. Anyway - hope all turns out well for you - looks like you have got your hands full.

Good morning.
It's tomorrow. :)

I'm really interested to see what the resolution is and who stepped up to the plate to make it happen.

You know, you're right. It is too bad. And I have always been the first one to pick up the phone and call executive offices and let them know what's going on because I'd like to know if one of my guys is screwing up. And I always get the lip service, I feel better...and then nothing ever changes that I can ever see. The phone company, the cable company, the satellite company, the company down the street; It's gotten so that companies are so afraid of wrongful termination suits that they do nothing and the company AND the public suffers...but I swore I wouldn't rant again! It all just gets so tiring. I hate attorneys! OK not all attorneys but the scum-sucking bottom feeders who make a living off litigation knowing that suing the small company will result in insurance companies...OOps, there I go again. So much rant...so little time!

I want to post this message in a new link because that's where it belongs to get complete coverage. SO go to "Not for Lack of Trying"
