Someone needs to say it.

The opposite holds true as well. Some of the long-winded, eight paragraph s*%te is enough to give a guy a.d.h.damn.

There are about three people alive that I would read this

much posting from, and chances are they ain't dvx'ers.

I guess to justify my rant, and Joe nailed it in a nutshell, is to visit all of the past dvxuser fest threads and clips and get some background. :) I know that's not practical but that's where my rant derives from. :) Thanks Joe.
Anyways, and don't count out a last minute surprise entry... :)

It's really not that different from live chatter. Like a visit to the local diner -

Morning, Joe.
Sup.
How's the dog?
Same. Yours?
Run over.
Oh, sad to hear that.

Waitress arrives ...

What'll ya have?
Coffee
Anything to eat?
Number 7, extra bacon

Waitress leaves ...

Nice ass.

And don't get me started on conversations heard at the bar.

Warm in here.
I'm married

Not much has changed, really. You check in with the niceties, or you have a conversation. I don't tweet, but it never really struck me as a sign that the human race is any more doomed than it already was. I will argue, however, that with textese becoming 'normal' I do see gloom and doom for the eloquence English once had.

My friends girlfriend asked for half a dozen nuggets. The McDonalds kid serving said they come in only 6 or 12.

A not-too-distant visit to a University town diner-gone-high-tech ...

ME: Um, this isn't green pea soup.

WAITER: But the computer says it is.

I guess you can't argue with a computer. Poor kid, all 3.5'd and nowhere to go.
