Someone help please?

Hello,

I am having a very, very tough time trying to find raw files produced by the HVX... I have been searching for MXF files for a long time and I can't find anything. Is anyone kind enough to give me a clue as to where I could find such files?

Specifically I'm looking for 720P 24P footage.

Best,

Fidelio

Are you looking for stock footage? Where are you looking? What kind of footage are you looking for.. I see 720p24, but of what content?

I'm pretty much open for any 720P/24 that's originating raw from the HVX. I want to see if my NLE and computer can handle the footage, and decide accordingly whether or not to upgrade. Can anyone give me a helping hand?

Best,

Fidelio

Is there not a single person on this entire board that has such footage? Or someone willing to share? I've been looking for days! I'm just practically BEGGING by now.

It might be easier to just post the specs on your computer, editing software and external storage and ask if they are capable of doing what you would like to do. Just a suggestion.

Are we supposed to send this to you on a CD, FTP or what?

Tell us what you want, what your specs are, and what exactly you are looking for

We all have footage, but have some confusion about what you want

A representative sample can easily add up to several gigabytes of data.

You might be better off visiting an authorized Panasonic broadcast dealer and getting a copy of their two-disk DVD set about the HVX200. It talks about the camera technology, it's history, has sample footage recorded using the same, and the second disk has raw data (MXF files) that you can play with in your editor -- I think this form is for the same DVD set.

Thanks THoff, but I live in Canada so that's not very practical. Thank you everyone for all the suggestions; I pretty much just need some footage quick. If anyone's still got some footage, any way of delivery is fine, but I'm mainly looking for stuff I could download. I do understand that it could be several gigabytes of data, so perhaps that's what's keeping people from uploading.

My specs: 3.4 Pentium 4 hyperthread, 1 GB of DDR2 RAM, 300 GB internal, 250 external, Avid or Premiere.

I want to edit specifically 720P/24 footage coming from the HVX smoothly.

You're computer will be fine with Edius Broadcast. Just add another gig (or more) of ram. I edit 1080i/24pa on a laptop with lesser specs (including a 5400rpm hd and ddr400mhz ram).

Fidelio there are lots of panasonic dealers all across Canada.
Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, you obviously haven't even looked.

Try Leo's Cameras in Vancouver. And buy Raylight if you get the camera. get the free demo to try it.
You might want to get another gig or 3 of ram, and a raid if you can afford it.

A raid will stream 3 HD streams regardless of the cpu (within reason) of the machine streaming from it.
