Announced on June 14, 2005 in the Hollywood Reporter, James Cameron's untitled "Project 880" is a parallel project being developed alongside Battle Angel (2009). It will use the same digital-3D camera system (developed by Vince Pace) and virtual production studio (developed by Robert Legato) that Cameron will use on Battle Angel.
PK Gillock said:AICN reported that Cameron just shot some live action footage in Hawaii for Avatar. But he also mentioned a lot about motion capture and how the guy assisting him helped with Polar Express and Beowolf (which are all CG). I'm thinking it's going to be a little bit of everything. And we won't know which characters are real and which are cg (most likely the green dudes with 8 arms - lol).
What's good about Cameron, and what seperates him from other big FX Hollywood filmmakers, is that his films usually have a great story. Sure he uses a lot of FX but he balances it with great story telling.
Can't wait to see some footage. Only two more years to go.![]()
